Elvis the Rooster is cocky and VERY sure of himself.  Only HIS crows and HIS crows alone can raise the sun and wake the world!  Then the BUG happened!  A devastating tragedy that makes Elvis believe that he is ready for that big chicken coop in the sky

Ideas and Activities:

Greet the students with a guitar and attempt to perform a “poor pitiful me” song Elvis Presley style.  Just something to convey “woe is me”!   Since there is a chicken in the story that is hard of hearing, when the students start asking why you are singing and acting the way you are, pretend you are having a hard time hearing them.  This may get them riled up, but it will make the story that much more enjoyable!
