Zoom Broom

Witch 1… Which one???  Witch 1…WHICH ONE???????????

Gritch the Witch had a hankering for Bunny Bread.  As she heads over to the Farmer in the Dell to snatch some bunnies…SPUTTER!  CHUG!  CHOKE!...her old broom tailspins to the ground.  After remembering that the Witch of the West had recently had a “meltdown” and couldn’t lend a broom to her, Gritch the Witch heads over to Foxy’s to buy a new broom. 

PROBLEM!!!!!  Gritch and Foxy seems to have a miscommunication of which broom to get.  Witch 1…Which one? Follow this outrageous story that includes references to a variety of fairytales and nursery rhymes as Gritch tries to find a broom that zips, zaps, ZOOMS!

Ideas and Activities:

Sometime in October show up wearing a witch hat and carrying a broom.  It would be fun to have several differently decorated brooms on display labeled:  Witch 1, Witch 2, Witch 3.  Ask the students which one they would like.  Get into a battle with them over the two homonyms. This would be a fun introduction to homonyms. This book would also be an excellent book to discuss “Voice”.
