This lesson was designed to be used with my 8th grade language arts class as part of a unit on critical thinking, but it could be adapted for use with students in grades 4-9. Though I wrote it for a language arts class, it could be used in social studies as well.

Prior to beginning this lesson, students should have a basic knowledge of how to use PowerPoint or some other presentation software. If this type of software is not available to you, the lesson could be adapted to be done in a more traditional manner (create the ad on posterboard).
