This lesson was developed as an attempt to change an old direct-instruction type lesson on critical thinking to a more inquiry-based learning activity. This WebQuest poses the scenario of seeking a job for an advertising agency. The task requires the students to research propaganda techniques used by advertisers, analyze current advertisements, and create their own ad for a fictional product. The students use a variety of pre-selected web sites in their research, and use Microsoft PowerPoint to create their ad presentation.
